Re: Strawberry Fields Forever (1st July - Spot The Taylor Vertical)
Are you sure this is enough to blind you from the bottle you brought? After everyone has arrived, there are (say) 18 bottles wrapped in foil with the shipper tag around the neck. That tag is then blanked by someone, and the blank is greeked by someone. There are now 18 bottles in foil with Greek ta...

Re: Strawberry Fields Forever (1st July - Spot The Taylor Vertical)
Some thoughts on blinding and bottles/decanters. The ’58 tasting in 2014 which utilised the blinding method outlined by JDAW , saw bottles arriving and being decanted into identical San Peligrino bottles, with a shipper tag then being hung onto the SP bottle. The use of identical SP bottles being ne...

One small snafu in the placemats. The first post mistakenly lists Ben R attending rather than Ben P, and this has carried through onto the placemats.jdaw1 wrote: ↑20:59 Wed 15 May 2024 Current draft of the placemats (which were quite fiddly) added to the first post. Tom: please inspect — is this what you want?

And I just noticed that CK77 hasn't been offered yet - I have one of the late release bottles I can offer. Previous examples of this have not woo'd the crowds, so if something needs to give to keep the botlle numbers sensible, this could be a candidate.

Getting a whole cork out of a bottle
New discovery for me this morning when using the bagging technique to remove a whole cork from inside a bottle. Compostable food waste caddy bin bags are excellent for the task. Cork out with one pull. IMG_1820-compressed.jpeg The bag surface is slightly grippy which helps grab the cork, and they do...

Alex - could you post a picture of the magazine, next to maybe Port Vintages or something that would show relative size? Trying to get an idea of what I’m searching for in the house…
