Anyone meeting up for a pre-drink-if so, where? Sounds like a good plan, how about The Red Lion? Just in Crown passage behind BBR Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk 5.30pm is going to be a push but I'll try (Red Lion is fine). Can someone remind me what time it starts as my ticket appears to have...

Alex is in. Mark my words. And a good thing too. Excellent. Phil: who would you like to make the placemats? I’m willing, but you are also capable. If you're happy to, please do. I've made the executive decision to include the CáF58, CáF66 and CáF80, and made a nominal assignment for who to bring wh...

I am sure most of you are aware, but just in case... the annual Christmas port offering from Aldi has hit the shelves this week. It is much the same as last year, with the following available whilst stocks last: 40YO Maynard's Aged mid-tawny port 750ml: £29.99 (Great value bottle but can anyone she...

Sorry, forget the 97 (overlooked the date restriction). Also have the 83 in storage but unlikely to be able to retrieve in time.

Re: (28 or 29) Nov 2017 - TBD

Phil, the fact that you're up for these dates is a relievingly positive sign and so yes, I'm available on either date, irrespective of theme. I've been looking forward to the long awaited Ca vertical for some time but maybe given the likely number of attendees maybe it's worth keeping this one dry u...

{Expletives!} {Expletives!} {Expletives!} I now recall what happened. When this tasting was created the attempt to book a room was rejected, because it was too far in the future. And I failed to make a diary entry nudging me into booking. And now it’s too late. All rooms taken for that date. What s...

Re: The New Douro Event - Soho- mon 7th Nov 2016

This year's event takes place next Monday (6 November 2017). I'm intending going for the evening session as despite the odd location (basement of a record shop) I did quite enjoy it last year. Tickets a little dearer than last year but still represents value. Link below:

No-that is being kept back for the 70@50 tasting earmarked for early 2020 and discussed the other tasting.

Re: Thursday 2nd November - 1970

Apologies for the late order but I will have:

Starter-Truffle Mac and cheese
Main-Steak (medium-rare) and chips

Interestingly AJH has opted for precisely my usual order. Thus:

Starter-Truffle mac and cheese
Main-Gammon steak and chips, no egg but with black pudding

Thanks

If anybody has an adoptable bottle, I might have a guest.
I can offer a Martinez or Avery
I can offer the Hutcheson :D Or perhaps more palatable-the Cr that Derek was going to be bringing (although will just need to double this pm).

Re: SOGEVINUS DECLARES 2015 VINTAGE

Interesting-thanks Simon, but is the comment about the largest gap between vintages in over half a century really true? What about 85-91 (as 87 wasn't generally declared), 2011 and counting doesn't match that yet?

In that case can I bring G70 instead of T70. I have a lot of the former and very few of the latter.
Can you Alun (AJH) to the list of attendees for this one ? He will be bringing the T70.

If we're only talking about bottles that I have to hand in my 'cellar' at home then (having undertaken a recent inventory) I don't have double figures of any bottle as I have been trying to concentrate on breadth rather than depth; the most I have is nine bottles of the Sainsbury TTD 03. And what i...

My go to cheese for the Kr67 would be a nice Manchego, mild but nutty- should complement it nicely.
