Re: Thur 21st November 2019 - Rebello Valente vertical

Draft of the food order . Will be submitted on Monday, please advise of any changes required before then. n.b. I note that the current menu has moved on, and no longer has ribeye (for which I will state that substitution with Sirloin is fine if needed), and neither the Goats' cheese salad nor truff...

Re: Tom’s Birthday 1960 Horizontal, Tue 02 June 2020

Personally, given that it's 60 @ 60 @ 60 and that there are bound to be one or two faulty bottles, I think we should go for the maximum number of bottles that glasses space affords ie 21. BTW, where's the NN (I see it was present last time around)?

I have Cr, N, RV, D and Mz (I believe).

Re: Port for sale by retailer

For those that have not already filled their racks, there has been some limited restocking of the M&S 2007. I was trudging home along Oxford Street this evening, exhausted after a dispiriting meeting in the West End, and thought I would pop into the Pantheon store again just in case. I was not so e...

At my local Sainsbury's all Port is full price :(
Yes, odd that- it appears to be very localised as the GM was at the full price at two other stores.

Re: Port for sale by retailer

The emissaries are beginning to report back; two bottles of the Warre (perhaps the last of the species in the South) have been located and collected in Poole. I fear they all maybe EW (extinct in the wild) very shortly.

Re: Port for sale by retailer

Have sent out emissaries (aka work colleagues) to scour the interior and to not return until they are successful!

On a different note Sainsbury’s have the 2003 TTD at £12 and the GM2005 at £16.80-both ‘to clear ‘.

Re: Port for sale by retailer

Marks & Spencers in Camberley and Bracknell are now bereft of Vintage Port Yes, inspected the Camberley store on Sunday. Guildford is also out (which is a bit annoying as when I was in there a couple of weeks ago they had loads of the Warre in a central offer position but when I enquired whether th...

Re: Third time is the charm - History in the making

.... Also no Gould Campbell and no Smith Woodhouse, but for other (more dire) reasons. The no Gould Campbell was certainly an other more dire reason. Smith Woodhouse not so dire I thought - that brand still lives on in the SFE portfolio. They made a SW16 so hopefully you are correct. FWIW GC also s...

Re: A reliable company to collect and forward bottles won at Auction

Having just purchased a few bottles at auction in the UK, which I need to have collected (and packed) for shipping to the Continent, I am wondering if anyone has hit upon a reliable courier to such end since this discussion started? Sadly,no-I still use Benelux but very, very sparingly. I try to pi...

You're not going blind, nor losing your mind. :) There was an earlier 2017 thread with an April date and you posted towards the end of it, perhaps after the new thread had been started? Dave, you're right, I am not going mad (at least not yet anyway) I now see it in the discontinued thread -hurrah!
