St John in Smithfield allows BYO even thought they have a list and charge £15 corkage. Their glassware is poor though so best to take one's own for decent bottles :) Colbeh up near the Edgeware Rd is super and doesn't have a license. It's Iranian food so again perhaps not the perfect Port match but ...

I've swear by Milk Thistle - Jancis Robinson recommended it on her site years ago - which helps avoid any nastiness the next day. I suppose this is rule #7 - Always take a tablet before your first glass...
