Re: Cockburn Vertical, Tue 2nd Oct 2018

And here are Dominics words alongside to the tasting, when I asked him what needed to be altered when the Symingtons took over the brand: Dear Axel As you are aware. We purchased the assets of Cockburn’s from Beam Global Spirits & Wines in 2006 but not the brand and at the same time came to an agree...

Re: Port wine chocolates

I have done a couple of tastings pairing Chocolate and Port and always was keen on getting chocolate you can buy pretty much everywhere. Here are some suggestions: White.png 10.jpg 20.png LBB.png Vintage.jpg You can certainly switch the producers on your availability and likes, but the pairings work...

Re: Taylor's historic limited edition

As far as I remember from ProWein, this is a special reserve Tawny Port, average of less than 10y old.

The important thing here is the bottle, you would not purchase this for the Port.

Best

Re: Cockburn Vertical, Tue 2nd Oct 2018

Dear Axel ,
Very nice to hear from you.
I have the best memories from that great tasting, without doubt one of the most enjoyable and interesting events in all my profissional life !
Also Cockburn's 1908 was, probably, the best Vintage I taste ever !
Please send my best regards to all,
Abraço,
Miguel

Re: Cockburn Vertical, Tue 2nd Oct 2018

Sorry, out in the fields for too long. Hope not to have caused trouble.

Here is my food order:

Cornish crab salad with ciabatta toasts

Sirloin steak, blue, with skinny fries,
+ Green beans with shallots;

Something cheesy at the end?

Thanks

I have an option on two very old bottles that would take the cost per person from £240 to £300 including Port and tip for our friends at B&F. Food would be on top at cost.
Yes, please...

Re: Warm-up for the BFT: Something nice from the 60s

When I was at RAF Cottesmore for the first time with my wife in the early 90s, a Benny Hill-type guy went into the officer's mess just before my wife and me. Dress code was regular uniform or flight suit, women accordingly. The entry control guy let the gentlemen in front of us pass although I was a...

Dear all, due to the Riedel glass hiring costs are now 90 GBP per head, including everything (also inviting our industry guest). Please do bring the bottle decanted along or bring everything to decant this to the RAF Club. Let me know if you have any questions. Much looking forward to seeing you all...

We are currently dealing with the glass issue. Otherwise 7. The Club also could provide some which are not perfect.

Thank you, Julian, for all your work up front.
