Oh no! Who put the completist in charge...
Is that a challenge?

Assuming by "complete" you simply mean filling the gaps between 1896 and 1977, we only have a few more to find: 1897, 1900, 1904, 1912, 1917, 1924, 1931, 1933, 1934, 1945, 1958 & 1966.

Re: Cockburn Vertical, Tue 2nd Oct 2018

Gents, I have an option on two very old bottles that would take the cost per person from £240 to £300 including Port and tip for our friends at B&F. Food would be on top at cost. I await condition reports on the bottles in question but if they look good my intention it to include both. Neither of th...

Re: Cockburn Vertical, Tue 2nd Oct 2018

I now have enough data to suggest that the cost will be in the region of £240 per person, excluding food. When do you want to be paid? Soon has the advantage of compelling decision by the indecisive. Soon, but I have one more (WS1) to re-confirm and give me prices. I have PM'd and emailed with no r...

This is a 1931 Garrafeira - aged in wood for 7 years then another 41 years in Demijon before being "Decanted" into this bottle.
Garrafeira is a style of Colheita. It is not VP

Re: Valuation???

The label says Bottled 1938 and Decanted 1979. This is a 1931 Garrafeira - aged in wood for 7 years then another 41 years in Demijon before being "Decanted" into this bottle. The inconsistent apparent ages of the label, seal and selo can easily be explained if it was released from the cellar some ti...

Re: Cockburn Vertical, Tue 2nd Oct 2018

Thanks to those who have responded so far. More please! Just to clarify what I meant by "financial rebalancing": My intention is to agree a fair price with the donor of each bottle. The total cost will be calculated using these prices and equivalent credit given for the £ value of the bottles. There...

Re: Cockburn Vertical, Tue 2nd Oct 2018

Could those on the attendee list please re-confirm attendance and email or PM me a fair price for the bottles they are able to contribute.

Financial re-balancing will apply so those with little or nothing to contribute will be contributing in £££.

Thanks

Re: Lbv vs vintage

Vintage Port is made from the very best wines available to the producer and is intended for long-term ageing so is priced to suit a customer base that is looking for a long term investment and can therefore attract a higher cost. LBV is normally made from the next tier down in quality and normally i...

It also happens to be fabulous Port provided it has been stored properly. The fabulousness cannot b...
