Re: Port brand abbreviations

Ph , for Quinta da Pacheca ? Observe that already blocked are PA (Quinta da Pedra Alta), Pç (Poças), and Pe (Petre). Website has multiple tawnies, two LBVs, and zero VPs. ⟹︎ No permanent abbreviation. But anyway, I’m changing my mind for this temporary abbreviation to Pa . Agree with Pa , was going...

Additionally, the circle-text for BBR is currently "Berry Bros & Rudd Selection" where in fact the brand is "Berry's Own Selection" as produced by "Berry Bros. & Rudd" (note the period also). Admittedly we didn't help ourselves here by choosing the abbreviation ...

I suspect that the Offley will also be Offley Boa Vista, OBV77 rather than O77, though Offley/OBV often (if not always) effectively synonymous.

Yes.
N = (Quinta do) Noval
Ni = Niepoort

Ni77 and Ni77c (assuming colheita not garrafeira which would be Ni77g)

For the Young Turks tasting, more abbreviations are needed. Please comment on the following. Ph , for Quinta da Pacheca ? Observe that already blocked are PA (Quinta da Pedra Alta), Pç (Poças), and Pe (Petre). Gv , for Quinta da Gaivosa? Tc , for Tecedeiras ? SO , for Quinta Seara D’Ordens ? Po for...

2010 Kopke white colheita

Purchased from Waitrose, and very lovely chilled with the warm weather last weekend.
Very smooth, well balanced sweetness with butterscotch hint, lovely gentle finish (esp. compared with others of similar age).

I really enjoy write-ups of tastings like this, thanks for posting. My favourite line from your write-up: "I did work my way through the F55 followed by a glass or two of the G45 which Cliff had been working through" - yeah, you and Cliff must have struggled with that hard work there :o) :...

I was going to wait until the evening to see whether I wanted anything else after my main; but I already know whether I want to watch 10+ people eating Welsh rarebit without me or not; I've updated above.

I did consider that option; my favourite if I don't make it myself is from Waitrose in fresh packet rather than a jar, but which freezes OK too - but I would not want to be rude.

I've just spoken with the B&F and there is defiantly no Bearnaise sauce available That's a real shame, they've been fine with it for a long time as long as we ordered in advance. Ah well - thanks for trying; I've updated above to have peppercorn instead. Maybe we'll persuade them to bring it ba...

I’d rather do the GMs separately, not mixed in with the Graham vertical. Agreed. I think the list Martin has proposed is based on what has been offered to him. For example, no-one has offered a bottle of 1957 nor anything older than 1955. Or, reading between the lines of Martin's post: If you have ...
