Re: Fiftieth Anniversary - Wednesday 19th May
Guys, I want to thank you for one of the most amazing nights and moments I've had in my life! The wine was perfect (i really loved that DOW 60 and the NACIONAL 60) but the company was also great! Thanks a million for counting me in and I hope that we can repeat this very soon! Thanks to everyone! Be...

Re: Dow's 2007 Vintage - 100 PTS Wine Spectator
If i'm allowed to give my opinion, coming from a guy that works in the port wine trade, and be sure that when I write here, I write as a Port and Wine Lover and not as a Symington Employee. I consider that these ratings are the proof that some of the big companies that were rated with top scores are...

Definetly the decanter's are not the right ones and ageing Vtg Port with the bottles standing?
That should be illegal!

It was an amazing news for us, that work in the Symington Family Estates but also for all the community that love port wine.
As a Portuguese, i'm also proud that a portuguese wine got recognized worldwide!
Cheers!

Dow's 2007 Vintage - 100 PTS Wine Spectator
Dear all, it was with an immense pleasure that the Wine Spectator Magazine just gave 100 points to the Dow's Vintage 2007 Port. It is the 8th port wine to have this kind of honour, and it is the 1st Port from the 21st Century to get this kind of ponctuation. I'm lucky to say that I have 6 bottles of...

Re: What will be the Christmas Port?
Guys,
Xmas is a family time, and my family deserves the best. And as i'm having 14 people at the table my choice will be:
A Graham's Vtg 1975 Magnum.
It is one my favourite VP and it was not expensive.

Re: Laying away Vintage Port for the next generation
Roy, you're going to be mad at me, but i'm a kind of a selfish bastard! I always say to my guests and friends: "It is good to have a collection, but the wines were made to be enjoyed, to give pleasure with your friends and family. Please enjoy them in this life before you go to next one where y...

Re: Port trivia question
If i'm not mistaken, that is probably Calém.
The original name of the city is Portus Cale so i think that it's probably this.
Am i right?
I didn't search on Google!

I had the chance to taste Graham's, Dow's, Warre's and Vesuvio and those will definetely be a part of my cellar.
Then Capela, Fonseca and Quinta do Passadouro.

Another port lover!
Hello everyone!
I'm very pleased to be a part of this forum.
I live in Porto, the heart of Vinho do Porto, and I want to learn and share experiences about port wine.
I hope this is the beginning of a really good "wineship"
Happy tastings!
