Re: Plastic capsules on 1960's bottles - cork failure?

Assuming you mean those bulbous plastic capsules that are quite difficult to remove, I experienced this with Croft '63. However, I found that the plastic capsule gave such a good seal that the fill levels were into neck and the Port had aged normally.

Alex, I have a Tukes Holdsworth '47 which I could add. Also have some G97 which would need to be yanked from EHD. And various '77 although expect we all have a lot of that! We're going to need to bottles or a magnum of anything we open as there will likely be around 20 people. If your TH47 can be m...

Other than Ian, who would be willing and able to contribute a couple of bottles of 1997 vintage port to the dinner on Wednesday night? Does anyone other than me have any 2007 vintage port on hand, which we could include in the line-up? Some people have already offered port for consideration for the ...

Would be good if we could include the W55.
Tom has offered a bottle of Warre 1955 for adoption. He also has a bottle of the astonishing Mackenzie if we want to include that shipper again (and some others if anyone is still struggling to find their bottle).

Seckfords have just sent out their weekly stock update, which includes 2 six packs of Morgan 1991 @ £180 for 6 ib

This is only the third time I have seen Morgan 1991 offered on the secondary market since we bought 72 cases of it in 2009 and drunk approximately 71.8 of those cases.

Question for discussion. Should the Ports be arranged into flights, or otherwise grouped on the placemats?

1955 Ports to arrange are currently, I believe: Ck, Cr, D, F, GB, G, Mz, N, S, T, and W. Reasoning welcomed.
I wasn't planning on arranging anything into flights.

Mon 23 Jan 2017 - Two London Clubs

I had the good fortune to be invited to visit two of the St James's clubs on 23rd January and to explore their wine lists. Naturally, I made sure we focused on the port that was on offer, Between four of us we managed to drink bottles of: 1985 Dow 1985 Fonseca 1994 Smith Woodhouse 1983 Warre
