Re: Thursday 23 May 2019: Victoria’s 200th

Can I please go on the list for this tasting.
Seperately for such an important event , I think a theme of British shippers is more appropriate.

Re: Are Vintage Port prices increasing

I agree with that Tom, there was a lot of Port coming to auction at the end of 2017, this really did not happen at the end of 2018. I was very disappointed how little became available.

Re: Are Vintage Port prices increasing

Has anyone got the prices from around 2006? This is when my Port buying started to accelerate and I think is a more useful guide, that is also a year or so since the time this website started. The real increase in prices in the older ports is as they have become rarer and in my view the price of old...

Re: 1991 Morgan

Just reread this tasting note. I fear the Morgan 91 is the definition of a port drunk to young. As a group we must have had over a Pipe at one point, I fear we don’t have much left! I personally have 18 bottles left at an in bond cost of £6.19 per bottle. This is 7.5% of my original purchase. A larg...

Re: Cockburn Vertical, Tue 2nd Oct 2018

Derek Thanks for arranging this tasting. A huge amount of work required to balence out all the contributions. A very good summary below! I am afraid my votes are on the sheets! It was good to see the 1967 doing well, this is a wine that is often available at auction at the present. Thanks for all th...

Re: Buying LBV

Yes I am wondering myself, perhaps it may be I am coming down with something! I do though think that 10 years ago I really did not think there was much point buying LBV as you could source VP at not much of a premium. That premium has now massively increased so the discount of LBV to vintage has inc...

Buying LBV

Now some of you who have known me for a few years may be surprised to hear that I am interested in buying some LBV ! The only LBV’s I have today are some wonderful old ones from the 80’s. The reduction of supply of new vintages to reflect the market at present which is clearly really starting to rec...

Axel

Thank you for arranging a most excellent tasting, great admin! I really enjoyed being back at this venue which is very special.

The Fonseca 60 was fantastic and my wine of the night. It was a a shame to have so many flawed bottles but the excellent company more than made up for it.

Re: Warm-up for the BFT: Something nice from the 60s

I am afraid due to work issues I may not be able to make tonight. With apologies. I have my bottle decanted at office on london wall, is anyone in the area who could pick it up. Otherwise I will try and drop off later in the night but I am unlikely to be able to stay. Axel I will pay the full amount...
