Re: 2019 Declarations

How odd... why does Quinta do Passadouro need a ® but Quinta do Noval does not? Makes me suspicious about what it really is. There is no need to be so suspicious Glenn: Passadouro already had the "registered trademark" when they were not owned by Quinta do Noval, so they just didn't chang...

Re: 2019 Declarations

. A 2019 Dow’s Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira is apparently being released this year with the Vesúvio. They say they are going to sell some cases with two bottles of the 2019, two of the 2009 and two of the 1999 which sounds quite fun but I bet is at a ridiculous price. That sounds about right. I'd b...

Hello all. Just thought I would chime in, since I"m one of the authors. Don't want to be spammy, but if anyone wants to ask me any questions or share any info, just let me know. I think I know quite a few people here from the Brotherhood events...How I long for a Gala dinner, been too long! Ho...

Hi Alex, Your scores for the TFP VP's 2018 are remarkable low, especially compared to your other scores for 2018 VP's: only Offley and Churchill's Quinta da Gricha score as "low"! Did you taste them about the same time in 2020? P.S. Did you taste Pintas VP '18? I'm very curious if you like...

Re: Taylor’s Kingsman Edition Very Old Tawny

This looks really nice, but in classic Taylor fashion I expect it to be horribly overpriced for a 500ml bottle. Has anyone see a price yet? Yes, I have: both Vinho Grandes Escolhas and Vinho do Porto Vintage Blog say that the recommended price will be €2900.00 per bottle!! Today (until 23.59) you c...

Thank you, added to the list. Luisa didn't mention how many bottles they made, did she?
No, she didn't! She did say, that quantities were low, so they bottled only standard (0.75) bottles.

Initial pnp - mostly closed nose with a hint of red cherries, but my, this opens up on the palate beautifully! Initially full of Parma Violets and perfume, but that’s immediately washed away in a sea of red cherries that fills the palate, accompanied by milk chocolate and mint. That is then followe...

To be honest, the only one that can answer that question is the producer, not me (but I think it isn't!!)

Re: Port House abbreviations

That is difficult to say: the varieties are identical and the number of bottles produced is about the same as Quinta do Javali VP 2017 (suggesting it's the same product) but the pricepoint in their shop is even higher than for the "normal" VP. My guessing is: another name for the same prod...

Today I took delivery of 6 bottles of 2018 Barros (thanks to PCM for the heads up) from Garrafeira Nacional in their 20% off sale. I couldn't believe the price of the 2018 Barros at less than £22 a bottle, now I'm torn as to whether to try one while it's young... Funny, I got my order from GN today...
