Re: Hello from Milton Keynes

I'm in the wine trade but also a port lover and wine lover.

I'm not sure if this is a conflict of interest as I'm not promoting anything except myself

Re: 2002 Pol Roger Cuvee Winston Churchill

I've got some 2002 and some 2004 and I can't make up my mind which is better! I'm eagerly awaiting the next vintage as it's supposed to be outstanding

how to revive an old wine with a bit of port

An old boss of mine showed me how to revive an old wine with a drop of port. We tested his theory with a few corked and slightly corked wines and also with some wines that were over the hill and I have to say the results were amazing. His recommendation was to decant the old wine and then add just a...

Re: Where to buy Colheita

My site lists a couple of good ones from Barros. I love their Colheita ports and they are regarded as one of the leading brands in this style of port. If you want just a bottle to try I have no minimum and one of my current favourites is the 1996 http://www.wineman.co.uk/product/barros-colheita-port...

Lovely wine, really good structure and a decent price generally although there are not too many places to buy it

Starboard Batch 88 Port Style wine

I love the Starboard Batch 88 Port Style wine from Andrew Quady in the USA. He takes the mick by calling it Starboard and it uses the same grapes as used in most ports! It's a little less muscular than some port but a real delight and something a little different

Re: Grubby old bottles without labels

I've got a bottle like this and I have no idea whether to open it and drink it or just sit and hope!
