Re: Second wind for 1963s? Tuesday 10 April 2018

With great regret I have to withdraw from this tasting. I have an event that evening and think it impossible I could be there before 9pm so I need to do the sensible thing and withdraw from what I am sure will be one of the greatest tastings. Very disappointed but I am sure a replacement will be fou...

Re: Tuesday 15th May 2018, for the Royal Wedding

I am afraid I have no 1960 port but as I am not at the 8s tasting a few weeks after, I was going to bring a GM68 if that is acceptable.

As they say on FTLOP a lot... +1

Hadn’t realised how cheap it could be... I might build 2 at the end of the garden. Now I just need 400 cases too! 🤔

I would love to attend but will be saving myself for the big event the next day. Enjoy and I shall look forward to see you all bright eyed the next morning.

I am afraid I need to withdraw as I will be in Scotland that week... unless there is any interest in changing to the week after? ;-)

Re: Tue 17th April 2018: cellar reduction and health check

I would love to come along as I am in town already that week for my WSET Level 3, and this is the best way possible of swotting up for the fortified wine module. Unfortunately, my course means that on this occasion I would not be available to help with the set up. Brilliant! I have added SCD to the...

Re: Latest buy

Not a recent purchase... but took delivery of 12 bottles of Graham's Malvedos 2015 vintage this week following a purchase of a Port Bond from Vintage Wine & Port in 2015 to celebrate my wedding year. I have only seen 1 tasting note for it so far, in Wine Spectator Feb 2018 issue, where it scores 94 ...

At approx £100 I am in for the NN please as the opportunity will not present itself very often, and I can’t pass it up... but will be happy with the decision either way.

Just to throw a curve ball and probably spout heresy... but I have a 1963 Cavendish I could add to the ‘63 party instead of adopting if people were interested.

I am very sorry for the late notice, but I am afraid that people’s plans have changed and I would not be able to get to the tasting until late if I came so it is best if I withdraw. I wish you a fine tasting and shall raise a toast to you Wolfgang. Apologies again.

Can you let us know where you are based. I would potentially be interested in making an offer on some or all of the bottles depending on ease of collection.
Many thanks,

I very much hope I could come but need to check the week before on Zac cover. I would not be eating but would be more than happy to cover service and Ws1 contributions. If Phil is coming it would be a TV69 if not a Dow 80 for my bottle.

Re: Thu 18 Jan 2018, Mostly 1982s, at Bar Douro

I thought it was a wonderful tasting, so I wish to doff hat to Alex for making the arrangements. In truth the private table we had upstairs was a bit small for the 9 of us but we did manage as all thirsty port drinkers do when required. The service was wonderful, Max was a great host and it was love...
