The Krohn brand isn’t dead — this bottle was spotted yesterday in a local wine merchant.

The possibility of a slow degrading reaction between TCA and another chemical within the wine seems entirely credible
This might be helped by TCA being present in very small quantities. A reaction between something scarce and something not-scarce might not remove much of the not-scarce.

The book gained Ck1918 from that video. In round numbers, Cockburn made every year.

No this is "only" 5 Litres. So disappointing. Thirsty. Open proper bottle. Make progress: drink an amount that feels like ⅚ of the whole. Return for a top-up and — and catastrophe. Disaster and devastation, calamity and debacle, an unheralded emergency: it’s all gone. Too small. Six litres is the w...

I’m saying “There might have been a 2½% discount.”
or a 2½% premium (perhaps for non-cash/credit).
Discount for cash were quite normal; premium for non-cash not seen otherwise. So, protected by the “might”, as I have it.

No luck searching here, though one possible source might be the Gaumont Pathe archive of Gaumont documentaries. Online video search/access is only available to registered news personnel, but direct contact to the organisation might be worth a try.

“C on D 2½%”, being a discount for cash, would be consistent with then standard practice.

"Good on 02/02/90"? Which would be a strange thing to write. Would Corney & Barrow, expert wine merchants that they are, really have known that these Ports would all take 1,173 months (less four days) to mature? How about "Cont. of 2½ %", as in contribution of 2½ percent. Not convinced. Some mercha...

Please could somebody check that the placemats are sufficiently satisfactory. Please propose some alternati...
